ACHIEVEMENTS

Domestic Highlights

PTB, at present and near future, caters the training market needs in Brunei Darussalam. Professional training services in the field of welding as well as other courses are rendered to the Government.

 

Together with welding, PTB has now been awarded the project by the Government to provide training programmes for the following fields: Marker/fitter/riveter; Mason/ plasterer; Steel worker; Woodworker.

International Affiliation and Recognition

The American Welding Society (AWS) was founded in 1919 as a non-profit organization with a global mission to advance the science, technology and application of welding and allied joining and cutting processes, including brazing, soldering and thermal spraying. 

Headquartered in Miami, Florida and led by a volunteer organization of officers and directors, AWS serves over 73,000 members worldwide and is composed of 22 Districts with 250 Sections and student chapters. The Society is dedicated to supporting hundreds of thousands of industry professionals, including: welders, business leaders, sales and service teams, manufacturers, vendors, associations, educational institutions, committee volunteers, and students.

 

The organization is perhaps best known for its code and certification procedures, which provide industry standards for the welding and joining of metals, plastics and other materials. Through their publications, internet forums, social media, member services, local and national events, educational resources, networking activities, and certification procedures, AWS keeps welding professionals and those interested in materials science up to date with the most current advances and procedures in the industry.

The Technical Vocational Schools and Associations of the Philippines (TEVSAPHIL) is composed of association of education and training private  institutions that offer programmes under the governance of The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and of individual private institutions offering technical vocational education and training programmes.

TEVSAPHIL’s establishment was a response to the need for a national organization to represent the   private technical vocational education and training (TVET) sector in co-ordinating and co-operating with the Government of the Philippines in order to better serve the needs of stakeholders, working closely with TESDA and employers to design and implement programmes that prepare manpower at a quantity, of a quality, at a time and place required by employers and the industries.

 

PTB was conferred as an Honorary Member of TEVSAPHIL in September 2017.

Royal Institution is guided and directed by a Governing Council, supported by an International Advisory Council, and assisted by Honorary Boards which comprise of members, all of whom have extensive professional experience, doctoral and/or post-doctoral qualifications. Royal Institution  currently has a regional office in the Philippines and liaison officers in Australia, Canada, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Republic of Maldives, People’s Republic of China, United Kingdom and United States of America.

The Mission of RIS is to recognise the contribution, experience, academic and professional achievements, qualifications, talents and skills of all those who deserve.

 

In November 2017, a Memorandum of Agreement/Understanding was signed between Syarikat PTB and Royal Institute of Singapore at their offices in the Legazpi Towers in Manila, Philippines. Through this memorandum PTB became one of many Internationally Accredited Educational Organisations under the Royal Institution Singapore.

Overseas Operations

PTB is embarking in its next phase of its expansion and diversification to do the following:

  • Expansion of Business to establish PTB Philippines

      -    Initial: Provision of On-line IT courses to offer to local/international market

      -    Development of international training materials and courses

  • Establishment of Facility to offer onsite training of secondary and onsite/offsite technical vocational training as well as  upgrading of skills.

      -    Consultancy and Certification Services

PTB is also seeking to collaborate with other International Associations and training institutions to provide:

  • International accreditation and membership for its staff and programmes

  • Provision of internationally accredited training programmes as required by the local/international market (e.g. Brunei Government)

      -    Provision of Internationally qualified instructors

      -    Exchange programme for training of instructors and trainees

      -    Internationally accepted certificates for its graduates
