This course covers competencies required in positioning and securing steel bars or mesh in concrete forms in order to reinforce concrete. The training in the use a variety of fasteners, rod-bending machines, blowtorches, and hand tools. This will be accomplished through class assignments, class  discussion and practical application of skills learned in the major units of study which include: shop and job safety, blueprint reading, steelcraft tools and equipment, general construction procedures, concrete construction, footings, and cost estimation of time, material, and labor.
