Held last November 18, 2021, Pertubuhan Ukur, Jurutera dan Arkitek Academy Sendirian Berhad (PASB)  in collaboration with Syarikat Pakar Tenaga Bersatu Sendirian Berhad (PTB), had their webinar on Health and Safety Regulations presented by Pg FDr Hishamuddin Alli Pengiran Jaya Indera Pg Hj Mohktar Puteh, Managing Director of PTB. The webinar was attended by almost forty (40) participants representing various local companies and institutions.

The aim of the said online seminar were to (1) Explain the legislative framework of workplace safety and health in Brunei Darussalam; (2) Discuss the health and safety role and responsibilities of relevant parties; and (3) Outline the role and function of accident recording and investigation. As such PASB has also utilised the webinar as contributing to the CPD/CPE points for Pertubuhan Ukur, Jurutera dan Arkitek (PUJA) members 

 

With the speaker’s wide experience in the Oil and Gas Industry, as well as experiences whilst managing his self-founded Registered Training Organisation, he shared the importance on how and why health and safety is crucial within every workplace. He covered topics like “The Foundations of Health and Safety and The Responsibility for Health & Safety and how the Workmen’s Compensation Act 1957, Employment Order 2009 and Workplace Safety Health Order 2009 and its Amendment in 2013 interact with each other. There was also Q&A portions where participants were given the opportunity to ask questions to the speaker related to the topics discussed.

This is expected to be the first of various webinars to be conducted covering Health, Safety and Environment  in Brunei Darussalam by PTB in collaboration with PASB.
